1About Spareo
Spareo connects buyers looking for used car parts with scrap shops in the UAE. We pass your request to the shops whose coverage matches it and give you a chat to talk to them. We are a marketplace and introduction service: we do not buy, sell, own, inspect, store or deliver any part, and we are not a party to any deal you make with a shop.
2Your account
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code, or another sign-in method we offer. Anyone who can use your number can reach your account, so keep it secure and tell us at support@spareo.ae straight away if you lose it.
Give us accurate details and keep them up to date. One account per person — do not open another account to get around a suspension or a block. You are responsible for what happens on your account, unless it happens because we failed to keep the service secure.
3Free for buyers
Buyers pay Spareo nothing. Posting a request, browsing shops, chatting and agreeing a deal are all free, we take no commission on the part, and we will never ask you for card or bank details.
So the service stays useful for shops, we may limit how many requests you can keep open at once or post in a day, and we may remove requests that are duplicated, false or abusive.
4Posting a request
Describe the car and the part you need accurately. You can add photos, a description and, if you wish, the chassis (VIN) number — it is always optional. We send your request to the shops whose stated coverage matches it. A request stays open for a set time, which you can extend, and you can close it at any time. Closing a request does not delete it from your history.
5What shops can see
The shops we send your request to see the car, the part, your description, your photos and the chassis number if you gave one. Your name and mobile number are shared with a shop only once it replies that it has your part — and you can turn on “Hide my phone from shops” at any time to keep your number private and talk in the app instead. Do not upload identity documents, other people’s faces or other people’s number plates.
6Payment is between you and the shop
The price, the payment method and when you pay are agreed directly between you and the shop — for example cash, bank transfer or card at the shop, at the time the two of you agree. Spareo does not process, hold or guarantee any payment, and no money for a part ever passes through Spareo.
Agree the details clearly in the chat before you pay, check the part before you hand over money where you can, and ask the shop for an invoice or receipt — it is your proof of purchase and of any warranty.
7The Order confirmation
A shop may send you an Order confirmation card in the chat, listing the part or parts, the price and any delivery fee or discount it offers. When you confirm it, the card records what you and the shop agreed, and the details you enter are shared with that shop so the two of you can arrange payment and handover. The Order confirmation is a record of your agreement with the shop. It is not a payment, not an invoice from Spareo and not a guarantee by Spareo, and it does not change any right you have against the shop.
8Collection or delivery
How you get the part — collecting it from the shop, or a delivery the shop arranges — is agreed between you and the shop. Spareo does not deliver parts and does not book, pay or supervise any courier. The part stays the shop’s responsibility until it is in your hands.
9The deal is between you and the shop
The contract for a part is between you and the shop. The shop is the seller and is responsible for the part being what it described and for being entitled to sell it. Spareo does not choose the part, the price, its condition or any warranty.
A warranty offered with a part is the shop’s own promise. Spareo shows it and keeps a record of what was promised, but does not provide, back or enforce it — a claim under it is between you and the shop. Your rights under UAE consumer protection law, for example where a part is faulty or not as described, apply to the shop, and a “no returns” or “sold as seen” note does not remove them.
10Safety
Used parts can fail, and some — brakes, steering, suspension, tyres, airbags, seatbelts, fuel and electrical parts — can cause serious injury if they are wrong, damaged or badly fitted. Spareo has never seen the part and cannot check that it is safe, genuine or right for your car. Check it before you fit it, and have safety-critical parts fitted by a competent workshop.
11How we review shops
Before a shop can receive requests, it uploads a copy of its trade licence or enters an access code our team issued, and a member of our team reviews it. We do not check licences against any government register and we do not track their expiry, and the review is not an endorsement of a shop or its parts. A shop is an independent business, not our agent. If it matters to you, ask the shop for its licence.
12How to behave
Be honest and civil. Do not post false, duplicated or abusive requests, spam or harass shops, impersonate anyone, share someone else’s personal information, or try to defraud anyone. Do not scrape, overload or interfere with the service. We may hide content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these rules.
13Ratings, reviews and reports
You can rate and review a shop you dealt with, and report a shop or a problem. Write about your own experience, honestly — reviews that are false, insulting or contain personal details may be removed. Ratings and reviews may be shown on the shop’s page; reports go only to our team and are kept private. Knowingly filing false reports is itself a breach of these terms.
14Your content and your data
You keep ownership of the photos and text you upload. You allow us to host, store and show them to the people they are meant for — for example your request photos to the shops we send it to — so that we can run Spareo. We will never use your request photos, chats or personal details in our advertising. How we collect and use personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
15Our responsibility
We provide Spareo with reasonable skill and care, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, that any shop will reply, or that a part exists, is genuine or is fairly priced. To the extent UAE law allows, Spareo is not liable for losses arising from a deal between you and a shop or from a part you buy. Nothing in these terms removes or limits any right you have under UAE law, including consumer protection law.
16Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using Spareo and ask us to close your account at any time, from Settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. Unless the risk is immediate, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
17Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Every version carries the date it takes effect. When we make a material change, we will show it in the app and ask you to accept the new version before you carry on — we do not treat silence as agreement. A deal you have already made is judged by the version in force when you made it.
18Law and complaints
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. If something goes wrong, tell us at support@spareo.ae — it is usually the fastest way to sort it out. You can also complain to the consumer protection authority in your emirate or to the Ministry of Economy and Tourism at any time, without coming to us first.
