Terms & Conditions — Shops

These terms apply when your scrap shop uses Spareo to receive part requests and reply to buyers. The person who registers the shop accepts them on the shop’s behalf by ticking the box when creating the account, and confirms they are authorised to do so.

1About Spareo

Spareo connects buyers looking for used car parts with scrap shops in the UAE. We send your shop the requests that match the coverage you set and give you a chat to talk to the buyer. You are the seller of every part you offer; Spareo does not buy, sell, own, inspect, store or deliver any part and is not a party to your sales. Your shop is an independent business, not our agent, employee or partner.

2Joining and your account

The person who registers a shop must be at least 18 and authorised to act for that business. Keep your sign-in details secure. You may let your own staff use the shop account, and you are responsible for everything done on it.

Give us your real trade name, location, contact details and licence details, and tell us within 7 days if any of them change. One account per shop — do not open another to get around a suspension or a block.

3Your trade licence and our review

You must hold a valid UAE trade licence that covers trading in used vehicle parts, and keep it valid while you use Spareo. Before your shop can receive requests, you upload a copy of it (or enter an access code our team gave you) and a member of our team reviews it. We may ask for a fresh copy at any time.

That review is only to decide whether we admit a shop to Spareo. It is not a government check or an endorsement, so do not present your shop as “approved”, “certified” or “guaranteed” by Spareo. Every document you give us must be genuine, current and your own — a forged, altered or borrowed document ends your account immediately.

4Coverage, replies and offers

You choose the vehicle types, brands, parts and specs you handle, and we use them to decide which requests reach you, so keep them accurate. For each request you can reply “I have it” with a price, reply that you don’t have it, or ignore it — saying you don’t have a part is a normal answer.

Say you have a part only if you really have it, in the condition you describe, available now. Show a real price in UAE dirhams that includes everything the buyer must pay you for the part — do not quote low to start a conversation and then charge more. If what you offer differs from what was asked for — a different part, a repaired part or a non-original part — say so clearly.

5Parts you must never offer

Never offer through Spareo: a part that is stolen or comes from a stolen vehicle; a part whose VIN, serial or part number has been removed or altered; a counterfeit part, or one described as genuine when it is not; a deployed airbag, SRS unit or seatbelt pretensioner; a safety part (brakes, steering, suspension, chassis, wheels, tyres, fuel system) that is cracked, bent, burnt or badly corroded; an instrument cluster altered to show false mileage; a key, immobiliser or ECU offered to help someone take a vehicle they do not own; or anything that is unlawful in the UAE or is not a vehicle part.

Before the sale, always tell the buyer that the part is used, its real condition, any known fault, damage or previous repair, and whether it came from a vehicle that was written off, flooded or burnt. Never describe a used part as new.

6Payment is between you and the buyer

You and the buyer agree the price, the payment method and when payment is made directly between yourselves — for example cash, bank transfer or card at your shop. Spareo does not process, hold, collect or guarantee payments, takes no commission on the part, and does not pay you any money for parts or orders.

Give the buyer a proper invoice for every sale. You are responsible for your own pricing, invoices, receipts and any VAT on the parts you sell.

7Order confirmations

You can send a buyer an Order confirmation card in the chat, listing the part or parts, the price and any delivery fee or discount you offer. Show every charge before the buyer confirms, and do not add charges afterwards. Once the buyer confirms, the card records what the two of you agreed and you receive the details the buyer enters, so you can arrange payment and handover with them. The Order confirmation is a record of your agreement — not a payment, not an invoice from Spareo and not a guarantee by Spareo. Honour what you confirmed; if something genuinely changes, such as the part already being sold, tell the buyer straight away.

8Collection and delivery

If you offer delivery, you arrange it yourself — with a properly licensed delivery company if you use one — and you remain responsible for the part until the buyer has it in their hands. Spareo does not deliver parts and does not book, pay or supervise any courier.

9Warranties, returns and complaints

A warranty you offer is your own promise. Say clearly what it covers, what it excludes, how long it lasts and how the buyer claims — and honour it. Spareo shows the warranty and keeps a record of it but does not provide or back it, and it must never be described as a “Spareo warranty” or a “Spareo guarantee”.

You are the supplier under UAE consumer protection law for everything you sell. The buyer’s rights — for example where a part is faulty or not as described — cannot be cancelled by writing “no returns” or “sold as seen”. If a buyer complains to you, deal with it; if you cannot resolve it, tell us.

10Buyers’ personal data

When you receive a buyer’s name, number, address or request details, use them only to answer that request, complete that sale and honour any warranty on it. Keep them secure, share them only with the staff — or the delivery company — who need them, never add the buyer to a marketing list or send them marketing without their consent, and delete them when you no longer need them. If a buyer’s data is lost, leaked or misused, tell us at support@spareo.ae straight away.

11Subscriptions and fees

Spareo may be free for shops for a while, including during a free trial. Where a paid plan applies, the plans, their prices in UAE dirhams and what each includes are shown in the app before you pay, and that screen forms part of these terms. Spareo never takes a commission on the parts you sell, and you may not withhold a subscription payment because of a dispute with a buyer.

We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change applies to you, and it applies from your next period, never part-way through one you have paid for. You can cancel at any time: your plan runs to the end of the period already paid and then stops. If we fail to provide the service in a material way, or suspend you and it turns out you had not broken these terms, we refund or add back the days you could not use.

12Behaviour, ratings and reports

Be honest and civil with buyers and with us. Do not spam, harass or mislead buyers, use requests as a lead list for unrelated marketing, or try to manipulate ratings or reviews. Buyers can rate and review your shop, and ratings and reviews may be shown on your shop page. We will not suspend a shop on ratings alone — if ratings are part of a concern, we will tell you and let you respond.

13Your content and your shop page

You keep ownership of your logo, photos and descriptions. You allow us to host them and show them on your shop page and to buyers so that we can run Spareo; we will ask before using them in our advertising. Use a manufacturer’s name or part number only to say truthfully what a part is or what it fits — do not use manufacturer logos, and do not call a part “genuine”, “OEM” or “original” unless it is and you can show it.

14Suspension and closing

We may pause or close a shop that breaks these terms, gives us false documents, no longer holds a valid licence, or puts buyers at risk. Unless the risk is immediate, we will tell you what the problem is, give you a chance to fix it or explain, and tell you the outcome. You can close your shop account at any time from Settings.

15Responsibility

We provide Spareo with reasonable skill and care, but we cannot promise any number of requests, replies or sales. To the extent UAE law allows, Spareo is not liable for losses arising from deals between your shop and buyers. Nothing in these terms removes or limits any right you have under UAE law.

You are responsible for the parts you sell. If a buyer or an authority brings a claim against Spareo because a part you offered was stolen, counterfeit or unsafe, because a document you gave us was not genuine, or because you broke the law or these terms, you will cover the loss Spareo actually suffers as a result.

16Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Every version carries the date it takes effect. For a material change — for example to what you pay or what a plan includes — we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and ask you to accept the new version; if you do not want to, you can cancel before it takes effect. We do not treat silence as agreement, and a sale already made is judged by the version in force at the time.

17Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. If you disagree with something we have done, write to support@spareo.ae and we will look at it again properly. Nothing here stops you going to a competent UAE authority or court.
